Random picture from Sunday, 9/9/2012 we brought a blender out onto the deck to make fruity drinks, below is Tania Stoose on the left, Kathering Chung on the right with hand on the blender. Kyle Barton is behind Tania sitting down.

Varonica fixed us Mapo Tofu for dinner. Sichuan spice is often "Ma La" => Ma (麻) = Numb & La (辣) = Spicy which is quite unique from other spices. She used special Chinese Sichuan peppercorn (花椒) hand carried directly from China for us, they were uniquely "numbing" and spicy at the same time. Wikipedia says the numbing is caused by "3% of hydroxy-alpha-sanshool". VERY good, very interesting. The white dish in the picture below is a potato dish called "Potato with Vinegar" possibly Chinese name is 醋溜土豆丝.

Lighting off "small hot air balloons" - these rise and go out over the water until the flame goes out, then sink into the ocean. They are biodegradable.

I think that's Jim lighting a balloon, Tania is right by him taking a picture on her phone, Bartyra with the glowing tennis shoes and long blonde hair, Petra behind her, Juan way far lower right of picture in hat holding hot air balloon to be lit, and others.

You can see the light from at least three small hot air balloons as they drift out over the ocean.

THE NEXT MORNING (January 1st, 2013) at 7:52am Jim and Melvin are surfing together.

Below it shows the sign I left asking that the party not spill onto my upper deck (I allowed the party to use the entire guestroom I rent below), and you can see I tied up the gates to further discourage party goers from entering. Well, about 10 minutes after I left for the weekend, they untied this gate, took the sign down, and moved the party into my private upper deck area. Plus they moved my cameras, which meant I had to return from Los Gatos to fix the cameras, and found people sleeping on the deck. I felt taken advantage of.
